"Bhai, shall we go? Anjali Di is waiting for us over there," Akash said pointing to the other side of the parking lot, "Yea, let's go," Arnav said walking after Akash. Once they reached the car, they got in and left for their house.
"Ma'am, we've reached," the driver told Anjali and all of them got out of the car and went into the house.
"How wuj school bacha lokh?" Manorama asked the kids as they entered the house.
"It was great Ma, they have such a big library!"Akash said
"And of course that's the only thing you noticed," Arnav said
"Bhai! Just because you weren't amused by it doesn't mean you have to tease me," Akash said
"Yea Chotte, at least be nice," Anjali said trying to hide a smile.
"Di! Aap bhi!" Akash said noticing that they both were teasing him.
"Ok ok, hold the arguing for later, come at least have some snacks," Manohar told the kids
"I'm going upstairs to do my homework, I'm not hungry," Arnav said
"Oh Chotte! I forgot to tell you, they are having tryouts for the football team after school tomorrow. Do you want to tryout?" Anjali asked
"Yea, sure," Arnav said and left for his room.
Arnav finished his homework in about half an hour since he hadn't gotten a lot for the first day and when he was done his phone rang. He looked at the number and didn't recognize it so he decided not to pick it up. A few minutes later it rang again and wouldn't stop, he finally got annoyed and picked it up, "Can't you just leave me alone?!" he yelled into the receiver.
"Arnav?" he heard the voice from the other end
"Khushi..?" he asked
"Yea, it's me. But if you're busy I can call you another time," she said
"No, it's okay. I didn't recognize your number so thought it was just some random person calling," he said
"Oh, well now you recognize it so next time you will pick it up," she said happily.
"Yea, I will," Arnav said with a smile on his face.
"So what are you doing?" she asked
"Nothing really, just finished me homework. You?" he said
"I also finished my homework and was eating jalebi's right now," Khushi said while crunching on a jalebi.
"Jalebi? At this time?" Arnav asked
"Yea! What's wrong in it?" Khushi said
"Nothing. So why did you call?" Arnav asked
"So I need a specific reason in order to call you? I thought we were friends now," Khushi said trying to sound offended.
"I didn't mean it like that. You can call me anytime, you're like the only friend I have now," Arnav said
"Only friend?! You don't have any others?" Khushi asked
"Well, based on the fact that it's my first day at the school, and I newly just moved here, so yea, you are my only friend except for Akash who just counts as my brother," Arnav said.
"Oh. And I called you to talk to you about the project we have to do together," Khushi said while eating another jalebi and Arnav could hear the sound of her munching on it loudly.
"Could you eat your food with less noise?" Arnav said
"No, it's my mouth and I will eat it however I want to," Khushi said and purposefully making louder munching noises so that he could her them.
"Ok. So what are we suppose to do for the project?" Arnav asked
"Well, we have to make a timeline of our childhood and compare it to show the differences of our lives," Khushi said
"So kind of like a biography?" Arnav asked
"Yea, kind of," Khushi said
"So where do you live?" Arnav asked
"Why do want to know? Are you trying to stalk me?!" Khushi said
"Why would I want to stalk you?" Arnav asked with a confused expression and walked out into the terrace that was connected to the pool area that was connected with his room. He stood near the edge and looked out toward the street and other houses.
"I don't know. Maybe you did want to?" Khushi said and went to stand by window in her room.
"I have no intention of doing that," Arnav said slightly laughing to himself, "I was just asking so that maybe we could meet at a near location to work on the project and talk about it."
"Oh. Well I live...," Khushi said and looked outside her window to find a place since she wasn't very familiar with the town; "...there's a Coffee Shop at the end of my block next to an Ice Cream Parlor."
"What the?!" Arnav said while looking in front of him and noticed that those we the exact things he was seeing in front of him.
"What the nahi. I said Coffee Shop. Co-ffee Sh-op." Khushi said a bit loudly making sure he had heard it correctly.
"Khushi I know what you said! You don't need to repeat it, ok?" Arnav said
"So then why are you saying 'what the?'" Khushi asked
"It's just the location you said is right behind my house and I can see it from the terrace in my room," Arnav said and looked around to see where he house might be.
"KYA?!" Khushi exclaimed
"Khushi why are you screaming?" Arnav asked while moving his phone away from his ears due to her loud voice
"You have a terrace in your have room?!" Khushi exclaimed
Arnav mentally slapped himself, this girl was crazy, "That was not the point Khushi." He then moved to the other side of the terrace and looked out and spotted a figure standing near a window.
"Oh. Then what was?" she asked
"The point was that you have Jalebi syrup all over your hands and now on your face," Arnav said still looking at the figure and recognizing that it was Khushi
"Oh, so that WAIT! How do you know I have jalebi syrup on my hands and face? Are you seriously stalking me? Arnav I knew it! I had told you earlier that you probably would stalk me and look what you're doing now!" Khushi said and blabbered on
"Khushi just shut up for a moment," Arnav said and she did
"Ok, now look to the left," Arnav said
"Why?" she asked
"Just do as I say," he said and Khushi looked to her left.
"Not you're left, my left. Okay, look to you're right," Arnav said and Khushi did
"Ok, now look straight ahead of you tell me do you see anything," Arnav asked
"Yea, a building," Khushi said stating the obvious
"Uff ho! Anything else?" Arnav said
"Yes, some trees and plants," Khushi said
"And...?" Arnav said
"It looks like the back of a house," Khushi said
"Are you serious Khushi? Just look up and do you see someone waving?" Arnav said and waved his hand
"No...I don't... Wait! I do see someone waving back!" Khushi said
"Great, so that.." Arnav said only to be cut off by her
"HAW!! Arnav you've gone this far to stalk me that you placed someone in that building just to wave at me? What if someone sees him? You are so weird!" Khushi said very loudly with her mouth hanging wide.
This time Arnav actually hit his forehead in annoyance.
"Khushi," he said a bit calmly but the anger audible in his voice, "That is me and I'm standing in my OWN house. I will NOT get in trouble for that."
"What? That's your house?" Khushi said
"Yea, it is. I was trying to say," Arnav started off but was cut off again.
"Why didn't you tell me before that you lived there?" Khushi said
"That it exactly what I was trying to make you understand, but you were too busy concluding the fact that I was stalking you," Arnav said.
"Oh sorry about that," Khushi said
"Khushi bitiya!!!" Arnav heard a voice from Khushi's phone and assumed someone was calling her.
"Arnav, I've got to go. Will talk to you tomorrow," Khushi said.
"Ok, see you at school tomorrow," Arnav said and waved to her, "At least wave back now, I'm not a stalker," he said with a grin on his face.
"Ok, bye," Khushi said waving back to him and hung up the phone and left from the window.
Arnav hung up the phone and thought to himself, one day of friendship with this girl and she was already driving him crazy.
